Spotlight: Elizabeth Anne Shoes - Purse n' Boots

Being a girl is awesome - we get to play with makeup, clothes, and accessories! But sometimes, the things we love can end up being a nuisance.

Each pair of boots by Elizabeth Anne Shoes has hidden pockets on the inside of the boots. The brains behind Purse n' Boots? Elizabeth Anne LeGear. She is a 28-year old entrepreneur from Vancouver, BC. The inspiration for her boot collection came when she pulled her cell phone from the inside of her knee-high boots at a club one night. A bartender commented on what a great idea it was - and suddenly the inspiration for Elizabeth Anne Shoes was born.

When I first heard about the Purse n' Boots collection, I was amazed - it is such a fantastic concept. It seems that I am not the only one loving this idea. Elizabeth Anne Shoes online store is getting a ton of buzz in the media. With an idea this great, it is no wonder!

      And yes...they did reply to all my emails, but never with the truth. I was repeatedly promised delivery dates that never happened and then repeatedly promised refund dates that never happened.

The delivery which was supposed to take place around the end of December at the latest will be slightly delayed, our manufacturer has shipped the boots to our warehouse but it is taking longer than expected. Once the boots have reach the customs we will be able to provide you with a shipping date. Fingers crossed that the customs won't keep them for too long ;) Unfortunately we cannot guarantee a delivery on time for the New Year. :( Due to the bank holidays it looks like the shipping will be completed in January at the earliest.

  39. Do not order from this company! They are a scam! I ordered a pair several months ago and have not received them yet but they had no problem charging me $300! No one will respond to my emails and no one answers the phone. Very mad!

  40. I've tried and tried to contact this company re: the boots I ordered...and paid for...months and months ago...last I heard the LATEST they were to go out was 12.15/14...they don't answer the phone nor do they respond to emails. SCAM!!! Next stop consumer protection bureau!

    I am very sad to read some of your post. We are very busy at the moment but do reply to all Facebook message, email and voice mail. As well, we have never declined one single refund request. Our lovely Purse N' Boots were supposed to be shipped in November for the Rogue, Princess and Two step and December for the European.
    We totally understand your concern. These wait times are tough on everyone. They are enroute now though! We really apologize. It's a frustrating situation for all of us.

    I want you to know you are not alone in the frustration you are experiencing with Elizabeth Anne Shoes.

    I have tried numerous times to contact the main offices directly and have yet to speak with a human customer service representative.

    I will give them credit as they do reply... but only via email. I have yet to speak to a living breathing individual in customer service. That being said, I have received communication from them revising their anticipated shipping date. My original purchase was made 10/23/14 and Amanda from customer service, sent me the following…
    Thanks so much for the order! Your beautiful boots are set to ship on November 30th approximately.”

    Now I am a patient woman and when November came and went, I contacted them again in the beginning of December and I received the following from Kim…

    Thank you so much for your email.
    We were about to send a general update!
    The shipment has been delayed, our manufacturer has just shipped the boots to our warehouse. It can take several days to reach the warehouse depending of the customs clearance. We are waiting for an update and will keep you posted.

    At this point, no indication of delivery was noted and I felt my concern rising.

    Now it is January, and I took it upon myself to see if there are any complaints noted regarding previous business practices of E.A. with the BBB and to my surprise the company is only sporting a C+. This is deeply worrisome for a new business to have such a questionable rating.

    It is my fondest desire to receive these boots and to write a favorable review. It is my hope that the boots will be so amazing and meet the needs they are designed for that I would be willing to invest in another pair. But I find that each day that slips by, and no package arrives, I have less and less faith in the promises made to me by Elizabeth Anne Shoes.

    Bottom line is this: I don’t want a refund, I want their nifty boots but they will need to work hard to redeem my trust in their timeliness.

  45. Long story short - I've cancelled my order. If you can't be transparent about delays and delete your own company updates: https://twitter.com/Purse_n_Boots/status/549791152522547204 then you have no credibility. My order has been delayed 3 times now and I said when I spoke to them if I didn't have a shipping notification and tracking number by the end of the 3rd time frame I would cancel. I sent that email today.

    But know - they are actively deleting and blocking people on Facebook. I asked on Facebook if I would receive an email with a shipping notification and my comment (and others) were deleted and I'm no longer even able to private message the page. No warning, no response. Nothing. Shady and dishonest practice.

    1. Don't kiss your money goodbye! Demand a refund and if you don't get it within 15 days do a chargeback on your credit card. These guys are AWFUL and gave me the runaround for 8 months or so but I eventually got my money back.
      p.s. I did get my boots (5 months late) and they weren't even good quality so I sent them back. You're not missing out by not getting the boots!

  50. I ordered in july...If this is actually a real company. ..they are not reliable. They will not give you even an estimate when you might get your boots...they block you from Facebook...and they DO NOT. Answer every email. They do, however, take your money...immediately! I have reported them, for what that is worth. I'm guessing that if any when they are able to produce the boots...for the price they are asking...There is gonna be another company that can produce. ..and deliver the boots....for a better price. I'm thinking this company is circling the drain! Give them your money at your own risk!

  51. Filed a complaint thru my Visa card today regarding my purchase in early October (which is apparently not all that long). I requested a refund from Elizabeth Ann February 5th and after offers of money off it was agreed they would process a refund February 10th....yet to receive it :( I really do sympathize with the company if it is out of their control conditions which lead to the delays in shipment however this does not excuse their poor customer service. Has anyone actually been able to talk to customer service (Gina) on the phone. I have received multiple excuses and form letter email returns which at least should make my claim thru visa easy to process. I would have loved to at least get to try these boots on, seemed like such a great product from a Canadian company it is really dissappointing.

  53. As the complaints an other reviewers said, this company is shambolic. There operating practice of taking payment before delivery, and apparently before they even have product, is borderline on acceptable practice. But it is their cusomter service which really rankles. They claim in their responses on the complaints page that they do everything to satisfy their customers and you can cancel anytime. Before they allow you to cancel though they send you a lengthy series of emails explaining why they don't have the product, how the product will be coming soon, how you should give them another chance. It isn't good customer service, it isn't responsive. It is just an excuse to avoid refunding your money. Despite the fact my August order has now been cancelled for non-delivery for nearly two months, I still haven't received a refund. My letter to the CEO has gone unanswered, they do not respond on social media. I am a long time supporter of new business and of women owned businesses but this company will not only not be receiving my custom ever again, they have put me off ordering new products entirely.

  54. I too ordered these boots (back in September 2014) and haven't received them. I requested a refund, and of course, haven't received that either. This is the most recent email I received from them (but they never once initiated contact, only responded to my emails)...

    "My name is Ryan and I am a customer service rep for Elizabeth Anne
    Shoes. I truly understand your frustration with this lengthy wait. I
    have been working hard to answer as many questions as I can, and as
    efficiently as I can, in regards to all of our boot orders, and /or
    refunds. I am aiming for complete transparency in order to help bring
    some comfort and peace of mind to our customers who have waited an
    unusual amount of time, and my first attempt at this was to bring you
    the previous message in regards to some of our struggles as a fast
    growing company.

    We are lucky to have customers that understand, although not pleased
    with, the late return on their refunds or arrival of their boots.

    I want to be open with you, you WILL be getting a full refund on this
    product. It has always been our intention to get you the best possible
    boot, and as previously stated, we did not expect our original
    supplier to place us in this very difficult position.

    I wish that I could tell you that we had only ten people to send
    refunds to, or who are still patiently waiting for their boots, but
    the order that was originally placed and made was compromised in its
    quality, and it wasn't a small order by any means.

    The money you sent us was used to order your custom boot. The boot we
    received was not the quality that we were happy with, and therefore we
    denied its shipment any further. We have been working with the
    supplier to return every refund back to us in a timely manner so we
    can process them back to the original buyer/ you.

    All the talks are done, and all the hard work we have made to ensure
    both quality and the fastest return possible have been completed.

    Now we are going through the list of customers and making sure that
    they have received their boots or have received their refunds. This
    list has every sale we have made since the trouble we have had with
    the original supplier that is no longer with us, and we are meeting
    every order in the order it has been placed.

    We understand that our clients do not wish to wait any longer, but we
    do have to ask for your patience as we make our way to your name on
    the list, and in order to make sure that we do not miss a single order
    or refund, we have to go through the sales in order without fail.

    As of this moment we are asking for a 6-8 week process. Of course this
    can be shortened if we reach your order sooner.

    In final, I understand the frustration of waiting, and I share in that
    frustration as well. Trust me when I say that we are working hard to
    fulfill all orders and refunds.

    You will be receiving your funds back in any case.
    I truly thank you for your patience."

    This is such a scam!!! I have already filed a complaint with the BBB, and intend to report them to the FBI and Federal Trade Commission. All I want is my money back and to never have to deal with this awful "company" again. BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GIVE YOU NOTHING IN RETURN EXCEPT LAME EXCUSES AND USELESS APOLOGIES! THIS IS A SCAM AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS CRIMINAL!!

  55. I am shocked to be reading that this has been going on since last fall! I too have been scammed by this company and definately have not received my refund let along ANY return call or email (and no updated on any more delays). How can you keep lying to all these people and STILL Have a website up and running accepting orders and credit cards from unsuspecting customers? I finally have filed a complaint. My order was place April 28th 2015 with a notice of delay to June 15th. And here we are September 2015. Shame on me for not researching first. Learned a huge lesson and I am $300 in the hole.     Tumbal karena usaha saya bangkrut dan saya menanggung hutang sebesar
    1M saya sters hampir bunuh diri tidak tau harus bagaimana agar bisa
    melunasi hutang saya, saya coba buka-buka internet dan saya bertemu
